The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) is seeking a Senior Technical Officer for Science Careers and Mobility to join its Unit for Careers and Mobility in Science in Madrid.

The successful candidate will support the management of European projects related to EURAXESS, the European initiative supporting researcher mobility and career development.

This is a permanent position combining European research programme management, financial and administrative coordination, researcher mobility, scientific career development and international project work.

About the role

The position will contribute to FECYT’s work supporting research careers and international mobility through the EURAXESS initiative, including the FORESEE project.

The role involves working with European research and innovation programmes and supporting activities aimed at researchers and research institutions.

Main responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Contribute to the administrative and financial management of European projects related to EURAXESS, including FORESEE.
  • Prepare administrative and financial documentation for project reporting to the European Commission.
  • Support the organization and follow-up of workshops, conferences, meetings and other activities related to research careers and mobility.
  • Contribute to communication activities associated with EURAXESS and related projects.
  • Support the preparation and submission of proposals under the European Union’s Research and Innovation Framework Programme.

Who can apply?

Applicants must hold a university degree and meet the following professional requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience managing programmes or projects under the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in positions related to researcher mobility or research career development.
  • Excellent command of Spanish.
  • English at B2 level or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally.
